evala
A Japanese sound artist and musician. Has been creating edgy works of electronic music and exploring auditory experiences with the use of 3D sound systems as new instruments. Founder of "See by Your Ears", which explores the dormant possibilities in hearing.
In 2020, evala received the Excellence Award at the 24th Japan Media Arts Festival for his “Sea, See, She - To you, who is yet to come,” based on the concept of “invisible cinema.” In 2021, he received the Prix Ars Electronica Honorary Mention for his 3D immersive audio album “Chosho Hakkei in Rittor Base - HPL ver”.

音楽家、サウンドアーティスト。新たな聴覚体験を創出するプロジェクト「See by Your Ears」主宰。立体音響システムを新たな楽器として駆使し、独自の“空間的作曲”によって、先鋭的な作品を国内外で発表。音が生き物のように躍動的にふるまう現象を構築する。
近作として、2020年「インビジブル・シネマ（耳で視る映画）」をコンセプトにした話題作『Sea, See, She ーまだ見ぬ君へ』をスパイラルホール（東京・表参道）にて世界初上映し、第24回文化庁メディア芸術祭アート部門にて優秀賞を受賞。2021年1月にリリースした空間音響アルバム『聴象発景 in Rittor Base – HPL ver』が、国際賞プリ・アルスエレクトロニカ2021 Digital Musics & Sound Art部門において、栄誉賞を受賞。
大阪芸術大学音楽学科・客員教授。本名は 江原寛人。
